.NET Systems Developer

This position calls for a software developer that can work independently or within an existing team, capable of working under pressure with very high levels of quality.

Requirements include:

• BSc. in Computer Sciences or equivalent.
• 3 years of object oriented development experience in HTML/XHTML, CSS, JavaScript and ASP.NET using C#.
• 2 years of experience using SQL and relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server.
• Strong programming skills and object oriented design experience, including working knowledge of core libraries, design patterns.
• Practical experience with web application development.
• Ability to work and learn on own initiative.
• Experience in database design, ERMs and data normalisation concepts.
• Experience with Sliverlight, JQuery, and/or SOAP will be considered an asset.
• Working knowledge of session management, object relational mapping, XML web services, and agile development methodologies desired.
• Key responsibilities may include: (a) Develop working applications, services or core libraries (b) Develop automated unit testing for all developed code, (c) Certify code for quality, maintainability, and performance, (d) Assists in defining requirements, analysis and design activities, (e) Required to understand the business and technical requirements, architecture and design specifications and developing the associated application code and associated documentation.

Web Developer

Ability to build and maintain websites showing a diverse skill base in coding, development, testing, documentation and design. Design being preferred but not a must.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Create standards-based, SEO friendly HTML and CSS
• Understanding the business and technical requirements, architecture and design specifications and developing the associated application code
• Write documentation and provide ample ‘testability’
• End-user focused: creates simple, usable and accessible web applications
• Support Content Management System (CMS) integration, custom themes and design, as well as custom functionality
• Deliver high-quality components that meet all project requirements, including the development and review of technical requirements
• Provide the Project Manager with reliable estimates for technical work and review risk lists for completeness and accuracy
• Apply development expertise to everyday development activities to ensure long term scalability and maintainability of products

 Skills

• HTML, CSS and JavaScript

• SQL Server 2005
• Can optimize graphics and web pages for optimum loading
• Cross-browser optimization
• JQUERY, AJAX, or other similar frameworks

Preference will be given to candidates with a knowledge of Windows Server 2008 R2, SQL Server 2008, Visual Studio 2010, and .NET Framework 4

Profile

• IT related background - Graduated with an IT degree or equivalent
• Fluent English and Maltese
• Ideally experienced with SVN or similar version control tools with a disciplined approach to maintaining code
• Can handle client support queries
