ICON contributes to the communities in which it does business.
Mentorships: We are very proud to be part of the MCAST and IAESTE student programs. In these programs senior executives at ICON meet with students to mentor them on work processes and offer job placements for as long as one-year. In these programs students are given the opportunity to integrate within the team environment and soak up all the necessary on-the-job skills which are rarely offered within the academia.
Pro Bono Work: ICON undertakes web development work to broaden the range of support options to local Non-Governmental-Organisations. All efforts are gladly rendered by our team with a view to foster more ethical engagement between ICON and the community within which it exists. The current causes which we are supporting through our involvement are:
- ADHD Malta: ADHD stands for “Attention deficit (hyperactivity) disorder” and is a term used to describe people who exhibit long-term difficulties that include inattention, hyperactivity and impulsivity. We support the non-governmental organisation which offers support, information, and advice on this issue. - VOICES: VOICES is a completely non-profit making organisation which organises choral concerts o raise money for charitable and other worthy causes. To date, VOICES has contributed almost a million euros to various local and international charities including UNICEF, Amnesty International, Red Cross International, UNHCR (Malta), the Hospice Movement, Eden Foundation, Jesuit Refugee Service, YMCA, Fondazzjoni Suret il-Bniedem, Razzett tal-Hbiberija and others. - TDM2000 Malta: TDM 2000 Malta was founded in March 2005 with the aims of achieving a greater consciousness of international cooperation, mutual understanding and the need to be active in today’s society. - Fondazzjoni Patrimonju Malti: Fondazzjoni Patrimonju Malti (a Maltese Heritage Foundation) was set up in 1992 by a small group of Malta's cultural heritage enthusiasts with the backing of Government. Its aim is to spread awareness of the islands' cultural heritage, through exhibitions, study, research and publications. - Competitive Malta: Competitive Malta is a not for profit, non partisan policy action group that sets an action agenda to drive Malta’s competitiveness in the major economic sectors of the economy. The Foundation focuses on defining and promoting the smart use of the Island’s natural, human and heritage resources as an engine to national competitiveness.
