ICON’s latest software solution Blockmonster is this year a finalist for the Best eBusiness Idea of the Year award at the eBusiness Awards 2012. Launched last year by the Malta Communications Authority the eBusiness Awards aim to acknowledge innovative ideas in the use of web-based technologies and eBusiness solutions for both businesses and society.
Launched at the beginning of October Blockmonster.eu has helped change the way property administrators handle their arduous tasks by providing a number of administration tools and combining them into one convenient solution. Represented by a friendly monster the solution also serves as a communication platform between property administrators and residents with the aim of reaching resolutions to common everyday problems as well as to provide residents with the opportunity to connect with other residents in the block and get to know them.

The Best e-Business Idea of the Year is chosen by the committee through an evaluation process. The winning products will be chosen for the service aspects involved the thinking behind design development usability and market appeal as well as whether the idea has resulted in an innovation that has helped create a new market and value network. This is the second time in a row that ICON has been a finalist at the MCA eBusiness Awards. Last year three of ICON’s projects were nominated for the best web solutions in Malta. PwC Academy MUOVO recruitment and VJ Salomone B2B were nominated in three separate categories.
Gareth Gauci Chief Technology Officer stressed the importance of showcasing these solutions and to appreciate their value at such events. “Innovation and creativity are recognised and given importance at such events. Highlighting their value helps other businesses to strive further into embracing creativity”.
