In March of this year ICON announced the launch of Air Malta’s brand new website including a major overhaul to the flight selection process as well as the entire user experience. Just over 6 months later Air Malta launched a marketing campaign and during the first five days ICON dealt with triple the amount of bookings and a significant more amount of traffic and visitors compared to last year without a hitch.

The website features hundreds of pages of tourist and local related content social media touch points and a simple fast secure and encrypted purchase process.ICON designed Air Malta’s website with scalability and resilience in mind using the latest cloud technology. Built from scratch with a content orientated strategy ICON ensured Air Malta can effectively promote The Maltese Islands as a destination as well as Air Malta as an airline.
The allowance for growth in both traffic and bookings was factored into Air Malta’s website to ensure that regular users of the site or first time visitors would receive the fastest speeds possible regardless of the amount of traffic at any given time while being shown the most relevant content to them in one of seven languages most appropriate to their location.
During the campaign ICON’s forethought planning and implementation of the latest technologies was really put to the test however the entire campaign did not just run seamlessly from start to finish but feedback from users of the website was very positive.
