ICON will be participating in the first ever Malta Startup Weekend, one of the world’s largest networks of leaders and entrepreneurs with the aim of educating and empowering individuals and communities. The company will also be providing the winning team with a half-day of workshops with the intention to assist in taking its product forward in the market.
Held for the first time ever in Malta at Smart City between June 7 and 9, the event will bring together entrepreneurs, designers, developers and start-up enthusiasts to participate in 54 hours of taking innovative business ideas from concept to launch. It is the best opportunity for anyone aspiring to enter the entrepreneurial world.
In brief, during a Startup Weekend, anyone is welcome to pitch their startup idea and receive feedback from their peers. Teams form around the top ideas, as determined by popular vote, and embark on a three-day experience of business model creation, coding, designing, and market validation. The weekend concludes with team presentations in front of local and international entrepreneurial leaders with another opportunity for critical feedback.
Many mentors and judges have signed up to offer support and added expertise to the teams over the course of the weekend and some great prizes have been donated by local and international companies including free office space, software packages and consultancy services.
Attendees will be able to build a network, possibly walking away with a job or an investor team build and learn a new skill or a new programming language. As competition in the business world becomes fiercer and as the idea of entrepreneurship becomes more sought-after, being part of this first ever Startup Weekend in Malta will put you one step closer to achieving your entrepreneurial dream.
