After a productive week at work, Friday is always an exciting day at the office, knowing the weekend is just around the corner. However, one recent Friday was extra special for us ICONites. After having lunch altogether at the office, we made our way to an ICON Kick-Ass Event, organized by our Managing Director, Ian Castillo.
Inspirational Talk
After a fun ice-breaking activity, we had an excellent talk by successful entrepreneur, record-breaking athlete and serial philanthropist, Nathan Farrugia. The speech entitled Lessons Learnt from the Edge of Human Limits was highly eye-opening, as Mr. Farrugia shared some of his life experiences with us whilst putting them in the context of how to overcome the challenges we face on a daily basis.
Team Building Workshop
Following this motivational speech, the Light your Fire Workshop, also by Mr. Farrugia, took off. This workshop revolved around Mr. Farrugia’s signature FIRE model which goes by the motto of “light your FIRE and find your true essence”. This model is based on four elements; Flow, Impact, Roles, Excellence; all of which encourage us to face the day ahead of us in the morning as well as add value to our lives. Our life quality will be ameliorated once we manage to achieve balance of these four elements.
Through the various activities we engaged in during the workshop, each one of us was able to identify what motivates us individually and how we can best work as part of a team. In addition, we were given the chance to reflect how best to maximise our time and unlock our full potential to achieve optimal work as well as life balance and above all, happiness.
Updates from the Managing Director
Last but certainly not least, a speech by Ian Castillo regarding ICON’s bright year ahead was in order. Ian shared with the team some high-level achievements that ICON has so far secured as well as the company’s targets going forward. Ian emphasized that with phenomenal and unprecedented sales performance, ICON’s principal mission for 2018 is to focus on the concept of delivery more than ever before.
A Lovely Team Dinner
To prepare ourselves for this challenging yet thrilling year ahead, once the event came to an end, we made our way to dinner together. After all, nothing brings people closer together than some heart-warming food!
